Nicholas made a Native American headress at school. Charlotte liked to model it for us.

Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving we traveled to Sylvania to enjoy Turkey dinner with Shelley's family. Then we went to St. Simons to spend time at the beach. Aunt Heather's family has a house by the beach. The boys were very excited to go to the beach even though they could not go swimming. Do you think they got wet? The above picture was taken just before Lukey fell belly first into the water. So much for staying dry!
You can't go to the beach and not build a sandcastle!
Cousin dog Janie agrees!!
Can we possibly get any more sand on our clothes?
Grandma holding Charlotte as she sees the ocean for the first time. It definately will not be the last time she sees it.
"I promise Mom, I will not get wet!"
After Janie and Nicholas dug a hole, Nick sits in it.
Daddy holds Charlotte as she is worn out by the excitement of the day.

Fall Festival at School
This weekend we attended the Fall Festival at Nick's school. We had sooo much fun. There were lots of "jumpy" castles to play in.
There was a juggler. Shelley was picked to be her assistant. She juggled fire over him. See the towel on top of him, it had a target on it!! The boys DID NOT like it when she lit the torches. She did drop one of the torches just to see how fast Shelley could move!! All worked out and we had a huge laugh.
Then we moved over to the pie eating contest. The boys didn't quite get the point. Check out Luke's face. He was not enjoying himself UNTIL the contest was over. Then he decided it might be fun to eat without your hands. He then picked up the pie plate and carried it around until every last drop of whip cream disappeared!
We had to wait in lines to play games. Check out the dragon inflatable in the background. It was one of the boys favorites.
The cake walk. Lukey again was making up his own rules. He liked how everyone was chasing him around in a circle. It worked because he won!!
Some action shots of Nick in the inflatables.

Carving Pumpkins
It is getting closer to Halloween and despite the looks on our faces we are very excited about carving our pumpkins. Look how they light up!! We just HAD to go outside 4 times, once it got dark to "check" them out!!
We are soo very excited about being SUPER heros for Halloween. We had to give them a test run before the big day. They ran around the house saying they were going to "save the day!"

Fall - Time For Caramel Apples
3 Months Old
Ms. Charlotte is now three months old. She is smiling all the time, still waking up once a night to eat. She LOVES to stand, face to face and talk with those cute little baby noises. We have conversations she talks, and then I copy her. Then she just giggles. She also loves to lay against your shoulder as you walk around. She snuggles right in. Check out mommies shoulder. It usually is wet with drool. The flood gates have opened!!

Family of Five
Here's our new baby girl: Charlotte Susan Howerton, born July 7, 2006. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 14 oz.

Shelley and the boys.
Enjoying some ice cream from Brusters'
We had a lice outbreak. They were in quarantine for days. The boys eventually had to get their heads shaved, but Laura opted for detailed grooming and further medicated treatment. Hint: Don't use mayo. Use creamy baby oil and apple cider vinegar on alternating nights. Somehow Shelley and Charlotte avoided the epidemic.
