Kennesaw Mountain

In an attempt to get rid of LOTS of energy, I took the boys to "run" up Kennesaw Mountain. It was beautiful weather and we had a great time. BTW, it worked... we were tired by the time we got home. We will do this again very soon!

Pumpkins and More Pumpkins

We picked out our pumpkins from a local church. Two pumpkins later and about 1 million pictures.. here are the better ones.

Dairy Queen

We live about 1 mile from a Dairy Queen. So, one Saturday we decided to walk to the Queen to get our ice cream.

Since we don't go very often, I am not sure exactly what size a "kid's" cone is. I ordered two chocolate dipped kids cones, and the boys were served cones with a heap of ice cream bigger than their head!!! They LOVED it. We had no choice but to go outside to enjoy!! FYI, they don't have a kids cone!!!

Charlotte had plenty. The boys were very willing to share. Everyone was completely sticky for the walk home!!

Brave's game

Our neighbor, Steve, surprised us one Wednesday night. He delivered 8th row back Brave's tickets to our door at 6PM for a 7PM game. They were way too good to pass up. So on a school night we loaded up the gang and set out for the game.

Just to show how close we were. We were actually on the big screen. We were sooooo excited!!

Nicholas asked for boiled peanuts and would hardly share his loot!!

This picture is prove I was actually in attendance also!! Charlotte was incredibly good the entire game. The noise, the lights, and oreo cookies kept her attention!!

Walking and Walking and Walking and Climbing

At almost 13 months, our little crawler started to walk. We started by counting her steps. For a couple of days we would see her take 2 steps, then the next couple of days she would take 3 steps. For about 3 days she took only 4 steps. And then she decided to walk all the time. I think the record was 23 steps without falling when we stopped counting.

Of course, where I stand most of the day, feels like it anyway. I have to load the silverware right before I close it, because she will nab a fork, spoon or knife in a second! I turned my head and before i know it, she has climbed into the dishwasher. Look how proud she is!!

First Days of School

The above are on Luke's first day of preschool. Charlotte's just hanging out. Luke is showing off his new school bag. He is very excited!
Nicholas' first day of school was before Luke's. He got a new lunch box this year, to match his book bag. He is ready to go to first grade!

Daddy is ready for the first day of school also.

One thing I haven't figured out about this blog is changing the order of pictures after you have added them to post. Most of the time I delete them and repost in the correct order. Today, I don't feel like it!! So back to Luke's first day. Nicholas's first day was about two weeks before Luke's.

Hanging Out

After the zoo, see below, we had a picnic and went for a walk into downtown Greenville.

We didn't know until after we got there, this weekend in Greenville was a bike tournament. This was very cool. They lapped around 4 or 5 times. We had to sit and watch.

Cooling off by the waterfall, who thought we could be anywhere close to water and not get in to play?

The ZOO

We went to the zoo in SC. No matter how big or small the zoo is, it is always very enjoyable for the kids.
Charby again in the backpack. She spends more time in this thing!! Good thing she enjoys it.

Uncle Beau, Katherine, and Lukey taking a break.

Silly faces while riding a bear!

The lion's got my head!!

Meeting New Cousins

We traveled to my cousin's house in SC to visit and to meet up with another cousin who has a boy the same age as Charlotte who we had not met yet. Cohen and Charlotte are a couple weeks apart in age. She also has a older child named Evan. All the kids got along great and loved spending time with each other.
This is Evan, Nicholas and Luke. They are "sharing" the video game ;)

All the GREAT grands from my Mom's side, SO FAR. I am sure there will be more!!

How many pictures do we have to sit still for???

Aunt Lizzy and Charlotte... too cute!!

Guess Where We Are?

I have lived in Atlanta 17 years and never spent the entire day at Stone Mountain. I have only ever been to the light show. Grandma and granddaddy had cousin camp 1 week in July. What is cousin camp? Every grandchild that is potty trained spends the week at Grandma's house. I think this is an annual event, but after this first time, I am not sure!! The kids had a BLAST. Anyway, one of the last events, was a day at Stone Mtn. Charlotte and I joined them. It was an ALL day event and the kids did very well. The first thing they wanted to do was travel to the top. It was early in the morning and the fog hadn't lifted yet. We took a picture anyway.
We rode on the Ferry Boat. Charlotte was forced to wear a life jacket for the first time. Although she looks unpleasant, she did very well!
She spent the entire day in the backpack. While Granddaddy was holding her she fell asleep. I can't resist taking her picture in this position.
The kids in the gardens.

At the Laser show. By the end of the show, all kids were asleep except Kele, the oldest!!

Big First Birthday

I promised to catch everyone up, so here it goes!! Back in July, Charby turned 1. Birthdays in our house are huge event. It starts with your birthday breakfast and the celebration is not over until you go to bed. A day full of doing whatever you want. Fortunately, a one year old doesn't communicate her wants as well as a 4 or 6 year old. Big brothers has plenty of opinions as to what the Birthday Girl wanted to do today!!
The ladybug cake was a complete success. The cupcake head was Charlotte's piece. She wasn't really sure what to do with it. We helped her!!
She got a new outfit from Grammy and Grandfafa, as well as the big birthday hat. Needless to say she DID NOT get to eat cake in this pretty dress!!

Cake Cake Everywhere!!!
Grammy holds her in new dress from Aunt Melissa and Uncle Justin. They also gave her this toy. It has become one of those favorite toys. It is magnetic and sticks to the fridge. It has about 10 pieces and makes a lot of noise. Not only does Charlotte love it, the boys seems to enjoy it just as much. I am constantly picking up the pieces, after I have stepped on them, and putting them back on the fridge. I am trying to make sure I don't loose any so that when we are done with it, we can pass it back to Aunt Melissa and Uncle Justin. HAHAHAHA!!!
