Pumpkin Carving

It is the Tuesday night before Halloween. Our tradition is to carve our pumpkins and then watch Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. Here is the recap. This year I broke down and bought the carving tools. Since I only got one set, I carved my pumpkin before Shelley got home from work. I carved a scarecrow into my pumpkin. When Shells got home he was happy to see my pumpkin, but disappointed because carving a pumpkin is "his job". I of course, had another pumpkin to for him to carve. He is so detailed and does a great job. He and Nicholas picked out the skull and crossbones design.

Here are the pumpkins lit up.

One of the best things about being a parent is experiencing things with your children. The excitement of carving pumpkins, drinking Hot Chocolate, and watching Charlie Brown, even though they have done all these things before, you would have thought we were headed to Disney World. I love this part of being a parent. I love watching them get excited over the little things. I thank Jesus that He has given us this HUGE responsibility of celebrating life with three wonderful children.

6th picture

My Sister-In-Law challenged me on her blog to find the 6th folder in your picture file, open it and publish the 6th picture in the file. I thought this was fun.. So here goes... I found the above picture of Nicholas trying to clean his mouth.

Here is Lukey NOT trying to clean his mouth!

And baby Charby getting her mouth clean. I have no idea what they have eaten to make such a mess.
When I went to attach the files to an email so that I could post them from the laptop, I opened up the sixth picture in the attachment folder just to see. I found this picture. Mom took me to New York City for the day!!! We had so much fun. What a good memory!!

Now I challenge my blog readers to go back and post your 6th pictures!! Fun

Mountain Day..for the 16th year in a row!!

Homecoming Part 1

This weekend is one of our busiest yet. It is Homecoming for the High School and our college homecoming. With what feels like a million more obligations sprinkled on top, we have been running from one event to another. It started Friday afternoon with the Homecoming Parade. Shelley had to be in the Parade..so we decided to go watch. I am so glad we did.

This moment alone made it worth it for me. Shelley is marching with the Science Team. Look how adorable they are!!!
Not only did the boys think it was cool to see Daddy in the parade, All the people in the parade were throwing out CANDY!!! Mental Note.. Next year bring bags to put the candy in!!

Charby is not so sure about the whole parade thing!
Nicholas and I are showing our Hoya Pride in matching shirts!
